The Hour is one of CBC's most blatantly biased shows. It makes my stomach turn every time I think that my hard earned tax dollars are being wasted on this MTV wannabe.

A long time ago when the earth was green, there were more kinds of unions that you've ever seen.
There was NABET, SOCAN, Writer's Guild, but sure as you're born, the trickiest of all was the ACTRA thorn.

Hi Paul,
Have a serious question for you, but first; awesome blog about The Hour! I am a huge fan of the show, the host, the eclectic content, and of course, the guests.
It doesn't suprise me that the taping would be as good/better, than the televised version.
Now to the point of my comment/question:
I am extremely curious to know why a show that CBC produced/ran for 7yrs is nowhere to be found in the networks' archives? I am refering to The Irish Rovers show that ran in the 70's/80's. When I first began searching, I was pretty outraged, but being a semi-rational person, I started wondering what the actual reason could be? Copyright problems, "black-listed", public interest, East vs. West (The band's company/production studio is based in Vanc/Vanc. Isl.),etc....I'm drawing a complete blank.
I feel very sympathetic towards the group, as over their entire 40yr career, any recognition from the Canadian music scene has had to be fought for. I e-mailed/posted George, The Hour's enquiries & complaints on their site, but still have received no feedback. I do realize that they must get millions of Q's and fan mail, but I guess I felt that with George's history with music and the show's tendancy for "underdog" stories, that they might look into it. Was wondering if you could comment back, via mail or to the myspace address provided. (I also have the original letter on one of my blog's in my myspace profile, if you're curious.) I would also like to finish up by saying that I intend to submit an apology to the aforementioned recipients, not for the content, but for my accusatory tone. Thx for taking the time to read my ramblings, and great blog page, btw. I'll be visiting again.
Sincerely,
Jen Coyle.
