Commuting by Numbers: Netherlands edition

Commuting by Numbers

The latest entry to Commuting by Numbers comes from far from (my) home: the Netherlands! Tse Moana, who I’ve known for many years via the online politics game NationStates, did some counting on a three-hour(ish) train ride from Winsum to Leiden (”north of Netherlands to middle part of Netherlands.”)

So, here’s our first European Cx# entry (see, I’ve even created an almost-indecipherable acronym!) All her selections lend this entry the flavour of the originating country - I think it’s rather wonderful. Thanks Tse.

  1. I forgot to mention that my commute also has several megalithic tombs in it — 218 of them.

    Yeah, really….

  2. Jungle Gym, that was the word I was looking for :)

And yeah, the buildings with things sticking out kinda phased me at some point as well. I included the category because I expected us to pass a particular building that has (as decorative element) a huge chain and anchor coming out of it at the top (it must be somewhere between 10 and 15 floors high) which goes round it a bit and then into the ground. And then, of course, we passed all kinds of buildings but not this one. So I included buildings that had lots of pipework and tubing sticking out, like factories :D

    But glad you like it.
